Little Raindrop is a "zero waste from top to toe" shop, where you can find handcrafted items for kids, adults and also for your pets. Everything is handmade in Ireland by Edith, the owner of the store: a passionate maker, creator and designer, who's heart beats in time with nature. Edith offers sustainable solutions to everyday throwaway consumer products and makes them accessible for everybody. Edith's sewn items are based on the principle of Circular Economy, which means, that they are made out of reclaimed cloth (remnants, cut offs etc.) - completley new material. Or they are out of preloved postconsumer fabrics, which she could save from ending up in the bin. With her items she wishes to prevent adding more waste to the landfill. Instead she reinvents already excisting material and turns them into beautifully made and unique items for your home. All her products are eco-conscious and with sustainability in mind. Her listings are as diverse as the fabric she upcycles. You will find a various display of reusable zero waste products ranging from sponges for your kitchen or bathroom and eco-friendly gift-wrapping solutions to eco-friendly toys, sustainable clothes and bags, to name just a few. There is always something new! With her creations Edith wishes to facilitate everybody's day-to-day life in a joyful and eco-friendly way.

The majority of the listed items is made out of recovered cloth: waste! Still in excellent new condition (cut offs etc.) but nevertheless meant for the bin. Edith carefully collects it and upcycles it. While being shocked about the amount of good quality cloth being thrown away, she enjoys working with it immenseley! "The way I work is a bit upside down. It is not, that I have an idea in mind, and then I realise it,...no....it's completely the other way round - I let myself be surprised by every new piece of cloth I get...it is always a new challenge - I just love it!" says Edith. As soon as she is holding the reclaimed cloth in her hands, the process of making starts. Not every fabric is suitable for every project and she then decides about the best way to work around it. Knowing that it is for a good cause, keeps her going. Her creations are as ecofriendly as can be!

Working with recovered cloth is not for free. It is very time intensive and involves costs, which can easily be underestimated! In a time where apparently everything needs to be "fast", Edith enjoys to take a step back and use her skills in order to create something in a traditional way. Peacefully and with a lot of love, new items are made. Every listing is unique and a piece of its own!

The production of cloth itself is very labour intense and can be abusive to both: human beings and nature. Driven by her inner passion and need to work with her hands, her background as a Social and Cultural Anthropologist and her strong connection with nature, she gives good quality materials a new lease of life. "I believe in positive change - we can do it!"

Thats how Edith felt, when she first registered her very own business name - the beginning of a dream come true! She is grateful for being in the position to do so and wants to thank everybody who supported her!

After rainy days you will always find a clear blue sky sooner or later!
